Siliguri has three distinct seasons: summer, winter and monsoon. The temperature reaches 35 °C (Celsius) in summer and 2 °C in winter which are generally chilled and cool.[citation needed] During the monsoons (between June and September), the city receives moderate to heavy rains often cutting access to the hill stations and Sikkim.
